Broholm Apple

Broholm can also boast of the Broholm apple, also called Broholm Rose apple, which grows in meadows and in the park near the main building.

The apple comes from Broholm, where its mother tree stood in the park, and was first noticed by fruit exhibition in Copenhagen Garden of cultivation promotion in 1866.

It is a rather small dining apple, which - despite its small size - is very juicy. The tree grows weak and with age it becomes quite openly with a broad and rigid crown. In the beginning, it is grass green, but later it becomes green/yellow and white/yellow, sunny side regularly striped with pink and yellowish pink.

Aqua Vitae Sydfyn & Broholm Apple

Aqua Vitae Sydfyn was founded in 2005 as the first distillery in Denmark with the production of eau-de-vie-type fruit spirits as a specialty. With their fruit taste and fruit aroma, the spirits are related to the fruit spirits - Eau de Vie de Fruits - which are known throughout most of Europe. Fruit spirits can be enjoyed alone, for coffee, dessert or after a good meal. And a fridge-cold apple aqua vitae is perfect for the lunch table.

Aqua Vitae receives the Broholm apple variety from the local area. It is distilled into an Aqua Vitae on pure Broholm Rose apple which is served in the restaurant and can be bought at the reception.
